class called 18" coil pot. We had to make side view drawings of these, and from the drawings approximately
the first 6" we had cut masonite templates made. Hopefully the drawing will turn up so I can post that too.

Set of Jars, Egyptian Style
This set was given as a gift, but later the large jar and the canopic type jars were sold to separate
parties from a yard sale. The 4 smaller jars were intended to be used as spice jars, with others to come but the plan
was later abandoned. They are Duamutef (jackal), Qebehsenuef (falcon), Hapi (baboon), and Imseti (human). The
two shorter jars stand to about 6". The large cat headed jar is over 2.5 feet, and was intended for the storage
of dry cat food. The jar is carved with cartouches with the names of a large run of cats that sojourned with the artist's
family (a very long complicated tale), each cartouche bound with the heiroglyph equivalent to the first letter of the name.
The inside is unglazed. during construction and firing, one of the decorative handles broke off: there was a mouse and
an owl originally. The small jars and lids are wheel thrown. The large jar is mostly coil built, but I believe
the cover and the base are wheel thrown.
