Colombia, 2006. Midge doll as the character from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."
This is one of two nearly identical Colombia dolls that I made. This one I sold on ebay for about $165, and the other
is in my personal collection. Columbia was played by (Little) Nell Campbell in the movie. The doll is a Happy Family Hometown Fair Midge doll, that I cleared all of her facial and ring paint off of. I gave her a full facial repaint with Liquitex acrylics and then polymer gloss varnished her face and newly painted fingernails. Her hair is original, but has been cut, gelled, and restyled. The hat, hose, and shoes were factory Mattel pieces from other dolls that have been altered. Hat, hose, and baton came from 2005 Tap dancing Lila doll. The rest of the ensemble is hand made and hand-sequined where applicable. Other dolls are planned, and in fall 2008 work finally began on Dr. Frankenfurter!
